Carlos McDonald

Carlos Wass McDonald, 89, passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Ooltewah, TN. He was born on May 5, 1928 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Karl P. McDonald and Christine Lenore Wass.

Carlos worked as a Medical Technologist for 46 years in hospitals in Florida, Tennessee, Colorado and Maryland. His interests included family, ham radio, electronics repairs, photography, reading, playing the piano, clarinet and bassoon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Burk McDonald.

Carlos is survived by his sister, Delores Gertrude Herr of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters and sons-in-law – Patricia Evans of Inverness, Florida, Sheryl McDonald (Chris Harvey), of Ranger, GA; Kristi (Ken) Parsons of Ooltewah, TN; five grandchildren: Clovis Dye Jr. (Patricia); Daniel and Benjamin Harvey (Sheryl); and Kristofer and Kaarsten (Kristi) Parsons; nephew, Jon Herr and great grandchild, Lena Harvey.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, May 16 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ian Carney officiating. Internment will be at the Burk family plot at Sandia Cemetery in Sandia, Texas.
