Connie Condra Nelson

Carrie “Connie” Condra Nelson, 91 of Ooltewah, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

She was born in Whitwell, TN to the late Brown and Rosa Sanders Condra.  Connie lived most of her life in Chattanooga.  She was a former employee of Mahoney’s Answering Service and a former Before-After Care assistant at Westview Elementary.  She was an avid gardener and horticulturist, known for her Chrysanthemums and attended Wesley UMC. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Nelson, Jr.; son, Jarrett Nelson, sister, Rachel Condra Fowler and her brother, Norris Condra.

Survivors include her son, John Nelson, Signal Mountain; daughters, Janet Nelson Ditzer, Chattanooga and Jill (David) King, Ooltewah; grandchildren, Aiden Nelson, Meghan Ditzer, Brittany King Bryant and David M. King, Jr.; three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ann Nelson, Royston, GA and Paulie Houser, Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Thursday, January 11, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Wesley UMC or the Before-After Care Program at Westview Elementary. 

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
