Della Julia Hughes

Della Hughes, 99, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord, February 16, 2018.

She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for 72 years and a longtime, faithful member of Concord Baptist Church where she enjoyed great times with the Concord Ball Club.

Della was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother. Her favorite hobby was bird watching.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Elizabeth Snyder; husband of 61 years, Walter; brother, Harry Snyder; sister, Nina Rodric, and beloved daughter-in-law, Martha.

Della is survived by daughter, Beth (Ron) Close; sons, Deaurhan Hughes, Larry (Pamela) Hughes; grandchildren, Dana (Gerald) Shoemaker, Monica (Matt) Sandy, Stacy Britt, Sam (Lauren) Hughes, Alex (Hazel) Close; 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

The family wishes to express extreme gratitude to the family and staff of Martin-Boyd Christian Home and Kindred Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. David King officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Concord Baptist Church, Martin-Boyd Christian Home, and Kindred Hospice of Cleveland TN.
