James Nelson Lusk, Sr.March 8, 1930 ~ May 30, 2017 (age 87)
James Nelson Lusk, Sr., 87 of Chattanooga passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017. A native of Whitwell, TN, he was the son of the late Samuel William and Myrtle Easter VanHooser Lusk. James was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Lusk and his brother, Harley Lusk. He was a longtime member of East Chattanooga Church of God. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years and having served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his military service he retired from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.
He is survived by his children, Theresa (Roger) Thomas, Chattanooga, James N. (Melody) Lusk, Jr., grandchildren, James Lusk, Bryan (Vicky) Lusk, all of Cohutta, GA, and Seth (Jennifer) Thomas, Harrison; great granddaughter, Abigal Elizabeth Thomas; nieces, Linda and Diane Lusk.
Services will be at 11 A. M., Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Interment will be at 2 P. M., EST, in Red Hill Cemetery in Whitwell, TN.
