James William Wilson

James “Big Red” Wilson, 68, of Ooltewah TN went to be with his Lord on July 5, 2017.

James grew up in Tiftonia and attended Lookout Valley High school. He joined the Chattanooga Police Department where he achieved the rank of Detective Sergeant, and retired in 1998, after 28 years of service.  Red also served as the Past Master at Lookout Valley Masonic Lodge # 673.

Big Red loved his Lord, his family, his community and his dogs. He raised his children by example and was always ready to help someone in need.

He is survived by his wife Debbie; sons, James (Rocia) and Anthony (Dawn); grandchildren, Brandon and Rachel and sisters, Martha and Caroline.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 PM Monday, July 10, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Carl Ball, State Representative Mike Carter and Jim Sattler speaking. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Forgotten Children's Fund.
