Jessie Millaway Burditt

Jessie Louise Millaway Burditt, 82, of East Brainerd, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 17, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Hendersonville, TN where she had been living for the past 4 years.

A native of Meigs County, Mrs. Burditt was a longtime resident of Hamilton County.

She was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church and the Golden Circle Sunday school class.  Mrs. Burditt was a volunteer for many years with the Hamilton County Election.

She was a loving caregiver for many of her family members throughout much of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Elijah Burditt;  son, Ronnie Burditt; parents, Ike and Sallie Millaway; sisters, Beatrice Murphy, Ina Mae Black;  brothers, Jay, Arthur, Earl, Millard and Edward Millaway.

She is survived by her daughter, Gina (Marc) Palmer;  grandchildren,  Elijah Cole Palmer all of Hendersonville, TN;  Hannah (Aaron) Lilly, Ft. Lauderdale, FL;  twin brother, James L. (Alma) Millaway; Hixson;  several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, July 21 at 12 noon in the chapel with Rev. Bill Mason and Rev. Royce Powell officiating.  Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 PM and Friday from 10 am until 12 noon at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
