Louise Pounders Phillips, 92, of Ringgold, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017.  Louise was born and raised in Colbert County, Alabama and was a 1944 graduate of Cherokee High School.  She moved with her young family to the Chattanooga area in 1951.  Louise was a loving homemaker who enjoyed gardening, travel, and visiting shut-ins.  She also worked for many years at Loveman’s department store.  She was formerly a long time member of Brainerd Church of Christ and was most recently a member of East Ridge Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alice Pounders, and nine brothers and sisters.

 

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, James Phillips; daughter, Donna Phillips Cooke and her husband, Tom Cooke, of Chattanooga; son, Tim Phillips and his wife Stacey Haire, of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Jason Alexander, of Chattanooga, Scott Alexander and his wife, Emily, of Chattanooga; great grandchildren, Thomas and Lauren Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 12 P. M. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 A. M. till 12 P. M., Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Rd.
