Macy Pope Rogers, 94, of Ooltewah passed away December 31, 2017 in a local healthcare center.
She was born in Geraldine, AL but had made her home in Chattanooga for the past 70 years.
She was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church for 40 years and attended regularly until her illness prevented her from being present.
Macy was employed by Lovemans Dept. store (Proffitts) where she sold Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics until her retirement. After retiring she remained very active through her love of sewing. Through her extraordinary talent for sewing she made many GPS uniforms, beautiful clothes and quilts all made with patient skill.
She also enjoyed staying fit by walking with friends. She was an avid fan of Andy Griffith.
Macy was extremely proud of her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren and enjoyed being with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Josie Pope; sister, Marie Kay; and a grandson, Kipper Trimm Long.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Larry (Deanna) Long, Chattanooga; daughter, Linda (Larry) Hughes, Ooltewah; grandsons, Jon (Kera) Hughes, Adam Hughes, Ooltewah and Kasey (Crystal) Long, Chattanooga; six great-grandchildren; sister, Sabra Wheeler, Social Circle, GA; brother, Doyle (Freida) Pope, Chattanooga; nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Siskins West for their excellent care and compassion they showed during her illness.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Atwood officiating.
