Marie Antoinette Steele

Marie A. Steele, 73, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017.

She was retired from Erlanger Hospital where she proudly served for thirty years.

Marie loved to dedicate her time knitting scarves, caps, and sweaters for the homeless, feeding her wildlife pets and spending time with her beloved cat, Cleo.

Marie was an avid sports fan and made great memories with her best friend Doris Chastain, as they traveled to baseball games and parks across the country. She always had a passion and great respect for the nation’s military and first responders.

Marie was pre deceased by her father, PFC Joseph Spencer, who was killed in action at The Battle of the Bulge and her mother, Rebecca.

She is survived by her “bestest pal,” cousin, Alva Lee Donovan; “guardian angel,” cousin, Kathy Posey, both of Chattanooga; brother, Michael Lyons of Hawaii; sister, Anna Dalton of Oregon; aunt, Marie Titus; very special friend, Glen Sims; and a great number of dear friends and family.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 PM in the chapel with Rev. Sterling Jetton officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood East cemetery.
