Pamela Christine Ventra

Pamela Christine Ventra, MD, MA, Dip.P.M., 72, of Chattanooga, passed away November 6, 2017, after a long battle with dementia. 

Dr. Ventra was born March 6, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Dominic C. Ventra and Martha Wilhelm Dargin.

She was a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz, the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine, Duquesne University and the University of Wales, Cardiff.

A retired hospice physician, Dr. Ventra was also an avid gardener, a wonderful cook and an amazing mother. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia L. Bombard. 

Pamela is survived by her daughter, Nina S. Ventra, Chattanooga; sisters, Ellen L. Bryant, Houston, TX, and Maria Scaduto, Islip, NY; nephew, Frank L. Scaduto, Birmingham, AL; family friend, Lila A. Walker, Chattanooga; her beloved dog, Zöe Ventra; and cousins, nieces and nephews.  

A memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
