Phyllis Ann Parker Burzese, 83 of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
Born on August 23, 1934 in Chattanooga to the late Leighton and Lethia Parker , Phyllis was a 1953 graduate of Central High School. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church where she served on the School Board and the Women’s Club.
A longtime fan of the Braves, Falcons, Vols and Lady Vols, she loved fishing and spending time in her garden. Phyllis loved to cook, bake, sharing recipes with her family, friends, newspapers and magazines. She loved trying out new ones recognized by Southern Living magazine often sending recipes to the papers for readers. Phyllis loved spending time with her family and traveled with her husband on his business trips across the US and Canada.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by a son, Anthony, 2 sisters, Imogene Barnes, Betty Lawson and her brother, Thomas Parker.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Alfred; sons, Vincent (Val) Burzese, Spring City, Stephen and Kevin Burzese, Chattanooga; grandsons, Mathew , Huntsville, AL and Micah Burzese, Spring City; daughter in law, Amy Burzese, Rogersville, AL.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
