Sue Kay Shipp
April 2, 1933 ~ June 1, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years OldShare Tribute:
Sue Kay Shipp, 84 of Chattanooga, went home to Heaven on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
Sue was the daughter of Jimmy and Alice Kay of Rock Spring, GA. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clayton Kay and David Kay; sister, Nancy Kay Morgan and daughter-in- law, Darlene Shipp.
Sue along with her husband Melvin founded and operated Shipp’s RV Center & Campground.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga where she was active in the Women of the Church Circle and Bible study groups, taught Sunday school, and delighted in serving the Missionary Closet. Sue also attended the Big Pine Methodist Church of Big Pine, FL where she was a tireless volunteer.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Melvin Shipp; son Randy (Cheryl) Shipp; daughter, Leann (Roger) Carr; grandson, Justin (Melissa) Shipp; granddaughters, Jaclyn Shipp (Nic) Flanagan, Laura Carr (Patrick) Murdock; great grandchildren, Annie and Alice Shipp, Luke and Nathan Flanagan; sister, Liz Zornes; brothers, Wilber Kay and Raymond (Nancy) Kay.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Sunday, June 4, in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to please consider a gift to the Missionary Closet of the First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga.
