I remember playing in Mrs. Shipp's home when I was a boy. My brother and I were waiting for my Mom to finish getting her hair done. Personally, I think it was a time to fellowship with Sue and the ladies. Chattanooga had it's own "Steel Magnolias." Thanks for the memories. Rest in Jesus' arms.

Sue was a wonderful part of my childhood as I was growing up in Chattanooga. I have warm and cherished memories of the ways she showed her love and care for me in those early years. I knew of her journey over the past years with the Alzheimer's diagnosis. While I know she will be missed deeply by many, I too am glad she is no longer bound by that difficult hand that was dealt to her - and to the family - in her later years. So grateful that I was among the lucky ones to know Sue in my lifetime. My heart goes out to all of the Shipps.

Our sympathy and love go to the Shipp family and to the Kay family. To know Lena Sue Kay Shipp was to love her. She is in her heavenly home and is free from the ravages of Alzheimer's at last. Godspeed dear Sue! Love to the family. Love, Irene & Jim Fike
