MSG Wayon Woodrow Hardee, Sr., United States Army Retired, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017. He was the son of the late Johnny and Minnie Hardee and was also preceded in death by his sister, Frances (Jimmy) Williams; grandson, Daniel Woodrow Hardee Gossett; and niece, Robin Russell. He retired from the United States Army having served 21 years, 4 months, and 2 days. During his service he serve one tour in Vietnam and two tours in Germany. After his retirement he was a JROTC instructor at Griffin High School in Griffin, GA for 18 years.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dollie Exalee Fowler Hardee; son, Wayon W. (Laura) Hardee, Jr.; daughter, Denise Lee Hardee ; grandchildren, Wayon Corey Lee Hardee, James Edward Gossett, Jr., Haylee Texas Gossett, Ethan Cole Gossett, Austin Nicholas Woodrow Hardee, and Braden Tyler Lee Hardee; brothers, Elbert Luther Hardee, Johnny Dale Hardee; sisters, Christine (Harry) Carter, Jessie Ruth (William) Clardy, Linda Faye (James) Belamey, Wanda Gail (Dan) Williamson; and lifelong friend, Roy Grady (Martha) Cook; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 P. M., Friday, September 15, 2017 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 P. M., Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home.
