I am so sorry we have lost MSG Hardee. I am sorry for being so late in contacting the family. I have been without power, phone service and internet until this afternoon, September 17. I was a lucky man the day he came to my house in Griffin to speak to me about an ROTC position. There are a lot of old JROTC students and instructors grieving these past few days. They loved MSG Hardee and he loved them. He certainly enriched my life and I am thankful.

Very sorry to hear of MSG Hardee's passing. He affected so many of us young teenagers during his time at Griffin High. I will always have fond memories spending time around the JROTC department. He was a tough old NCO that would snatch us up by our ears when we got out of line, but we all loved him for it. My condolences to his family as well. Tim Birdwell GHS c/o 2001

Some of my most precious highschool memories are from JROTC at Griffin High. Sgt. Hardee was a true American Hero to me.

I love this great man so much and I have missed MSG Hardee so much all these years. It brought me so much happiness the few times I saw him after I graduated in '96. I don't believe I could have made it through high school without having him in my life. He was always someone that would listen to me and give his advice or he would give me that look of his over the top of his glasses and tell me I was in the wrong and chew my tail out. I am so sorry for your family's loss and you all are in my prayers.

I truly love MSG Hardee. I loved going into the supply room at Griffin High and hearing all his stories. Especially loved going to hide all the excess equipment that ROTC dept was not suppose to have before our AFI inspections. He was my company advisor my senior year of high school for DELTA company in ROTC and he taught me so much that year about how to lead and how to follow. I can hear him stay "Students, your messing up Students." I will miss him...GOD bless to you an your family...Robbie Johns GHS class of 94

What an honor to be the nurse of this great Veteran. It was my privilege to take care of such a gracious man. I always looked forward to the day he would come in so I could kiss him and talk about football (ROLL TIDE). He would never leave the office without saying, "Your the best Patti" and I would say no you are. He will be forever missed and my deepest sympathies goes to his entire family.
