Alpha Chester Davis, 90, of East Brainerd went home to be with the Lord, January 6, 2019
surrounded by his family.
A lifelong resident of Hamilton County, Mr. Davis was retired Owner and Operator of Davis Service & Supply for 31 years.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving as Sgt., and was a faithful member of Tyner United Methodist Church since 1975 where he was a member of the Margaret Pennington Sunday school class and The Choir Class.
Alpha was the son of the late Chester and Mildred Davis and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd (L.M.), Henry and Lebron Davis.
He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 67 years, Carleene Davis; daughter, Sandy (Donnie) Stafford, Apison; son, Lamar (Lynn) Davis, Sale Creek; two grandchildren, Dillon and Claire Davis; four sisters, RomaJean Yarbrough, Ooltewah, Christina Slayton, Chattanooga, Frances Owenby, Rossville, and Cindy Wall, Chattanooga; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 9th at 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Harrison officiating.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 19th , 12 noon at Tyner United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tyner United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Chattanooga.
