Ashanti Charisse Kingston

August 22, 2015 ~ November 19, 2021 (age 6) 6 Years Old

Tribute

Ashanti Charisse Kingston was born on August 22, 2015 to Belinda Quinones and Maasi Kingston in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  At six years old, Ashanti departed this life on Friday, November 19, 2021.

Ashanti lived with her mother Belinda and two brothers, Jamaal and Mekka.  She attended East Brainerd Elementary School; her favorite teacher was Ms. Gilbert.  At school and at home, Ashanti and Mekka were referred to as the Kingston twins.  They were always together.  If they were not around each other, they were talking about each other.

Ashanti loved playing with her family, often pranking her mom and brothers.  The house was never quiet when she was home; you could always hear Ashanti singing while dancing all over the house.  She loved to make those around her smile and laugh; she enjoyed being the center of attention.  Some of her favorite things were unicorns, Barbie dolls, puppies, mermaids, princesses, castles and dragons.  My Little Pony was one of her most-watched TV shows.  Her favorite colors were pink and white.  Ashanti was a cheerleader for the Chargers Football Team and loved to learn all the cheers.  One of Ashanti’s favorite things to do was cooking with Mom and coloring pictures.  She was mommy’s little artist - with an accumulation of so many pictures and drawings.

Ashanti was deeply loved and cared for by her parents.  She was definitely ‘Daddy’s Girl…Mommy’s World’.  Ashanti often slept with her Mom even though she had her own bed.  She always said mommy’s bed was more comfortable than hers; and she knew Mommy would not have good dreams if she did not sleep with her.

Ashanti was bossy and super girly; she loved her big color bows that clipped to her ponytails.  She very often asked her Mom to paint her fingernails and toes - she had to be beautiful at all times.

Ashanti has a huge family and she is survived by her parents, Belinda Quinones and Maasi Kingston.  To cherish her memory, she also leaves her brothers and sisters:  Mekka Kingston, Jamal Ricks, Adrian Fitch, Masi Kingston, Kenye Kingston Trevino (Horatio), Coreka Reed, Akira Taylor, Maasi Taylor, D’Asia Kingston, Chyna Lyons; Grandparents, Claritza Ruiz, Fannie M. Jiles and Stephen Kingston; her god-sister; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
