Barbara Jane Brown

Mrs. Barbara Jane Grimes Brown age 83, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

Mrs. Brown was born in Chattanooga, TN, on July 25, 1939, the daughter of the late Sam Grimes and Sybil Brock Grimes. She was a member of East Ridge Church of Christ. Mrs. Brown retired from Boyd Buchanan School after twenty five years of service. She loved going out with friends and attending the school’s activities. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Brown and three brothers, Hitch, Jim, and Butch Grimes.

Survivors include her three daughters, Marti Hood (Lonnie), Jill McLean (Michael), and Ashley Brown; two grandchildren, Courtney Craig (Michael) and Hunter McLean (Natalie); and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Zachary Craig. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 11:00 A.M., Heritage Funeral Home with Charles Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Heritage Funeral Home.
