Betty Louise (Clark) Newell

Betty Louise Newell, 84, of East Brainerd passed away October 2, 2019 at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

A longtime resident of Chattanooga and loving mother and grandmother, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos Clark and Hester Novella Clark; her husband, Howard Newell and daughter, Frances Jordan.

She is survived by her daughters, Mona Kay (Jimmy) Walker, Ringgold, Tina (Greg) Carlton, Chickamauga; son, James A. (Darlene) Jordan Jr., Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Amber Lea (Rob) Blackman, James A. (Crystal) Jordan III., James Hugh (Greg Kerr) Walker, and Joshua Reid Walker; two great-grandchildren, Ian Wayne Bradford and Gavin Bradford; two sisters, Ruth Garrett and Mary Lee Brooks.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 7th from 4 – 8 PM.  Services will be held Tuesday, October 8th at 1 PM in the chapel with Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
