Bill Higgins

William Alfred Higgins, 85, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017.

He was born January 5, 1932 in Berryton, GA to the late Rev. Floyd and Hattie Mae Higgins. After serving in the United States Air Force, he was employed by National Linen Service and Mayfield Dairy Farms.  He retired from Mayfield's after 22 years of service as a Route Salesman.

Bill was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. In retirement, Bill enjoyed playing golf while working part time at The Farm, Council Fire, and Brown Acres Golf Courses.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Magalene Day Higgins, and wife, Sandy Grant Higgins. He also was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Parker.

Survivors include his daughter, Lynne (Tom) Latimore, son, Stacey (Susan) Higgins, granddaughter, Katy (Hunter) Reed, step daughter, Liz Hedges, and several nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, September 1, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Julian officiating.  Interment will be in Anderson Memorial Cemetery in Ringgold, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, August 31 and from 1-2 PM Friday, September 1, at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
