Carrie Elizabeth Scott

April 4, 1985 ~ March 22, 2021 (age 35) 35 Years Old

Tribute

Carrie Elizabeth Scott, born April 4, 1985, of Harrison, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021.

Carrie lived her life with the physical and cognitive challenges of cerebral palsy yet she was the happiest person you would ever meet.  She was very social.  Just give her an audience and she would talk and laugh and even sing and do her own special kind of dancing from her wheelchair if she heard the music start up.  There was no way you were not going to laugh.  She had a laugh that was like no other; boisterous and contagious.  She loved to celebrate her birthday but never understood it was just once a year.  Having a birthday every weekend was her philosophy so that is what we did.  Carrie was the center of most of our family gatherings. She will leave a hole in the middle of our family that cannot be filled by anything or anyone else.  God let us have Carrie for 35 years.  During those years, she taught us patience, unbiased love and how to live your best life despite the odds being against it.  There will be so much happiness and laughter in heaven when our little angel meets God.  Thank you, God for giving us Carrie.  We would not have wanted to do life without her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Straussberger, Sr. J.L. Scott and Mary Scott and Aunt Sandra Crowell.

Carrie is survived by her parents, Cindy (Mark) Howard and John (Debbie) Scott; her brothers Kurt Scott and Brett Scott; her stepbrothers Adam (Anna) Howard, John (Tiffany) Howard and Chad (Ashley) Howard, Ben Willis and Jamie Willis: her grandmother, Betty Straussberger; her devoted Aunt Cheri Straussberger; her uncles John (Emily) Straussberger, Jr., Jeff (Jean) Straussberger, Bart (Myra) Scott; also her nieces Katie Scott and Claire Scott and her nephew, Taylor Willis, and several nieces and nephews and extended family.
