Mr. Charles Hawley Riner age 89, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Mr. Riner was born in Richmond, IN, on April 19, 1933, the son of the late Lloyd Riner and Gladys Ruhl Riner Haas. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Riner retired from Belden Wire and Cable as an Industrial Engineer after many years of service and later worked at Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track. He loved his family and had a good sense of humor. Mr. Riner was loved dearly by his great-grandchildren, affectionately called “Pop-Pop.”  In addition to his parents, Mr. Riner was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Byrum Riner; a fiancé, Barbara Kieffer a step-brother, John Haas; and a step-sister, Anna Foley.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kimberly Miller (Sandy) and Carol Gravitt (Troy); three grandchildren, Danielle Swindell (Tyler), Carly Hixson (Blake), and James Brewer, III (Abby O’Rear); and four great-grandchildren, Paige and Brooke Swindell and Lexi and Norah Hixson.
