Charlie Silvious was suddenly called home on Sunday, June 2, 2019.
He was surrounded by his loving family, including Jan, his wife of 53 years, David, Sandi, Jonathan, Aaron, Heather, Lauren, Luke Rachel, Ben, and Bekah.
He is also survived by his sisters, Carol, Phyllis, and brother, Jerry.
Born in Woodstock, VA, Charlie graduated Virginia Tech as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. He answered his country’s call to fly helicopters in Viet Nam where he was awarded the Bronze Star and several distinguished flying crosses. Upon returning home, he continued his military career for 30 years, retiring as a full colonel. In the meantime, he applied his education working as a civil engineer for over 40 years at TVA and Mesa Associates.
Charlie faithfully served his beloved Woodland Park Baptist Church for 36 years. In lieu of flowers, he would want you to contribute to Woodland Park Baptist Church or Precept Ministries International.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Woodland Park Baptist Church with Dr. Brian Kinlaw officiating.
Visitation will precede the service from 4:00 until 6:00 PM.
