Daniel (Danny) Lee Ratliff

Daniel (Danny) Lee Ratliff, 51, of Apison passed away November 19, 2022 after a 13 month battle with Bulbar ALS.

A resident of Ooltewah and Apison for the past 41 years, Danny graduated from Ooltewah High School where he was a member of the football team.

He was formerly employed for several years in the Engineering Dept. for Parkridge Valley Hospital and the McCallie Schools.

He wan an avid TN Vols and Atlanta Braves fan.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Lee Ratliff; his mother and step-father, Shirley and Oscar Shaffer.

Survivors are his wife, Wanda Ratliff;   son, Ethan Hollingshead, Apison; 2 sisters, Becky (Mark) Goodin, Doris Steman;  5 brothers, Richard Ratliff, Jimmy Ratliff, Kevin (Phyllis) Ratliff, all of New Lexington, OH, Harry (Hick) Ratliff, Port Charlotte, FL, and Paul (Diana) Ratliff, Lancaster, OH;  sister-in-law, Marie (Tony) Burkett, Rocky Face, GA; many nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26th at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sterling Jetton officiating.     Burial will follow at Plowman Cemetery with Travis Brisco, Chuck Sutton, Brett Guinn, Tony Burkett, Michael Cass, and Scott Stansifer serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and especially Michelle Hicks for all of their love and care during Danny’s illness.
