Donald James Johnson

Donald James Johnson, 79, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

Donald was born on May 24, 1942 in Allentown, PA. He graduated in 1960 from Dieruff High School in Allentown, and graduated in 1964 from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. He married Anita Kacmarcik of Allentown, PA on June 13, 1964.

After the ROTC program at Lafayette College he went on to serve as a lieutenant in the US Army starting in Fort Reiley Kansas and served in Vietnam in 1966. Once returning home, he received his MBA from Lehigh University.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Elsie Johnson; and son, Kevin Johnson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anita Johnson of Ooltewah, TN; son, Doug (Ann) Johnson of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Michael Johnson of Marietta, GA; Amanda Johnson of Marietta, GA; Zach Morrell and his son Kallan of Louisville, KY; sister, Joanne (Dick) Sterner of Mechanicsburg, PA; and sister-in-law, Carol (Dale) Piper of Allentown, PA.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.
