Donna Kay Tirey Commers, 55, passed away peacefully in Nashville on June 10, 2022 surrounded by family following a year-long battle with cancer.
She was originally born in Decatur, GA but spent most of her life in Chattanooga, TN. Donna was a graduate of Central High School and Bryan College.
She was a member of Clear Creek Church of Christ where she had been active in the children’s ministry for over 29 years.
Her life was most characterized by a love for her family, living life to the fullest, and a strong work ethic. She was revitalized by her devotions with God, time with family and friends, and many beach trips. Mere written words cannot capture the essence of her stamina, strength, and vitality. She had a mischievous laugh, a guilty grin, and a strong will.
She honored her God, loved her family and cherished her friends. Donna was a faithful daughter, sister, and wife and a loving mother.
Donna was preceded in death by her father Jackson Ellis Tirey.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Tim Commers; her sons, Joshua Commers, Kaleb Commers, and Nathan (Emily Ann) Commers , all of Nashville, TN; mother, Sara Lou Tirey, Chattanooga; brother, Ken (Daphne) Tirey, Easley, SC and Greg Tirey, Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 14th at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel.
