Donnie L. Davis, 66, of Ooltewah went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2019 in a local hospital.
A longtime resident of Hamilton County, Donnie was a retired Captain from the Chattanooga Fire Dept. after 25 years of service.
He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed gardening, medal detecting and four wheeling.
Donnie had a loving heart for the elderly and spent many days sharing tomatoes and cookies with the patients at Life Care of Collegedale.
He gave his life to the Lord at Faith Baptist Church on January 20, 1986 and at the time of his death was a member and a deacon of Maple Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nita Davis; and brother, James Marlin Davis Jr.
Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Eloise Davis; brother, George (Wanda) Davis, Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 pm at Maple Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Dotson, Rev. Joe Kelly and Rev. Andy Bell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 3-7 pm on Tuesday.
A graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at New McDonald Cemetery.
