Dorothea Sedman Whittenburg passed away peacefully on October the 3, 2020 at the age of 95.
She was born on July 10, 1925 to her parents Roy and Audith Sedman. Dot resided in Chattanooga and retired from Chattanooga City school system as a payroll secretary in 1986. After her retirement, much of her time was spent caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. Knitting, needlework and oil painting was some of her favorite pastimes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Whittenburg and two siblings, Mary Lou Moore and Ronald Sedman
Left behind is their only daughter Ginger W. (Craig) Bush; three granddaughters, Brittany (Ron) Jones, Paige Rios and Ashley Bush; great-grandchildren included Corbin Rios, Adison Rios, Lyla Troglin, Elijah Jones and Isiah Jones. Dot has one remaining sister, Peggy (David) Cooper. She also has several nieces and nephews Neal Cooper, Natalie Norris, Lisa Meadows, Gary Moore and Tommy Moore.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, October 5, at Plowman Cemetery in Apison, TN with Rev. Don Allison officiating.
