Edward William Blair

Edward William Blair, 86, of Apison passed away Friday, May 28, 2021.

A lifelong resident of Apison, Mr. Blair retired from McKee Foods after many years of service.   He was an avid horse enthusiast and was active with racking horse shows, and worked as a horse farrier.

He was a member of Wesleyan Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jimmie Ruth Blair;  parents, Carl and Edna Blair; brother, Charles Blair, and sister, Polly Atchley.

He is survived by his sons, Jim (Lyndi) Blair and Rex Blair both of Apison;  grandchildren, Breck (Burton) Stewart, Ryli (Ward) Southeard both of Chattanooga, Skye Elizabeth (Kevin) Stone, Georgetown;  three great-grandchildren, Clair and Wilder Stone, Simon Southeard;   three sisters, Sarah “Dimple” Blair, Ooltewah,  Doris “Dot” Griffith, Cleveland, and Debbie Brenda Wilson, McDonald;  many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 2 at 4 pm at Plowman Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3-4 pm at the pavilion at Plowman Cemetery.
