Elaine Stroud Edmonds, 93, of Chattanooga passed away quietly July 7, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
Elaine was a talented person who could sing, play the piano, and dulcimer – which she did countless weddings and funerals over the years.
She created beautiful quilts, knit work, crochet items, and counted cross stitch.
In her early years she contributed art work to elementary schools and churches, taught classes at her church, and spent hours as a Girl Scout leader in Jackson, TN.
She was an avid volunteer with local schools, Siskin, and Volunteers in Medicine.
She was a person of deep faith and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school there for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, H.N. Stroud, Jr. and brother, M.D. Edwards, Jr.
Survivors are her husband of 13 years, John Ray Edmonds, Chattanooga; two daughters, Judy Stroud Rhyne of The Villages, FL, and Lynne Stroud Hamner, of Windemere, FL; grandson, Andrew Stroud Hamner; step-son, Lynn (Sebnem) Edmonds; step-grandson, Tunc Edmonds all of Alexandria, VR; four nieces, one nephew, and two cousins.
A service will be held Sunday, July 11th at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Minister Mike Gurganus officiating.
A private burial will be held Monday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
