She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte, and her two grandchildren. A family service was held at Forest Hills Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Nature Conservatory.
With a lively personality, Eleanor will be best remembered for her love of animals, gardening, and concern about endangered species. She donated her work to support wildlife rehabilitation and education and had a special interest in birds of prey, particularly eagles. She took over 1,500 pictures of her favorite golden eagle, RJ, whom she could even coax into turning his head upside down upon demand.
Eleanor attended Rollins College and graduated from UTC. She later became the first color feature photographer at the Chattanooga News Free Press before doing independent photography. She loved deeply and is greatly missed.
