Elizabeth Ann Shields, 80, of East Brainerd died Tuesday evening, March 24, 2020 in a local health care center.
A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Elizabeth worked in the medical field for 42 years, retiring from OB/GYN Centre of Medicine, Dr. Stanley Dressler’s officer where she had worked for almost 30 years.
She was a member of Grace Works Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben W. Shields; daughter-in-law, Lisa Shadrick Shields; parents, Clyde and Inez Hammons, father & mother-in-law, Ruben and Pearl Shields.
Survivors are her son, R. Winston Shields; granddaughters, Haley and Katie Shields, all of Apison; sister, Bobbie Carter, Bridgeport, AL sister-in-law, Jeanette (Bill) Jennings, Chattanooga; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to the current medical crisis, the family will be having service for immediate family only at 12:30 pm, Friday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Burial will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
