Frances Lenore Morris, 80, of Chattanooga, TN., passed away August 9, 2019.
Diagnosed with cancer in early May, she was courageous and valiant until her death. She died at home with her family and friends attending her these last 3 months.
She was born in Tuttle Oklahoma and grew up in West Texas until marrying Phillip Morris, who brought her and her daughters to his home in the South. He preceded her in death in April 2017. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Howard.
Her daughter, Debra Villalobos and her granddaughter, Paloma Villalobos survive her as well as nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
Lenore was a master of domesticity making many homes in many places seem as if the family had always lived there. She was a queen of quilting, almost all completely by hand. One could never beat her at Scrabble. She taught her daughters and granddaughter how to keep a beautiful home, how to clean, use needle and thread. She was true artist and keeper of many ways of the past. With their daughters, Phillip and Lenore opened Frame Etc. on highway 58.
She was very intelligent and always knew what she wanted from a very early age. A brass plate bearing the quote “BE REASONABLE: DO IT MY WAY”. And most of the time she was entirely right. She taught herself many things, and was encouraging to others to always keep learning.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 14 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial next to her husband and daughter will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery on Sand Mountain, Alabama.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 13 from 5-8 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. 7454 E. Brainerd Rd.
