Frank Aloysius Overmeer

Frank Aloysius Overmeer, 87, of East Brainerd passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 in a local hospital.

Born on July 8, 1935 to the late Francis Aloysius Overmeer and Dorothy Marie Thomas of Paducah, Kentucky. A resident of Plano, Texas for 30 years, Mr. Overmeer has lived in Chattanooga for the past 6 years.

He was in the retail industry for most of his life having owned and operated several clothing stores in Dallas, TX before his retirement.

He was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church and was a veteran of the US Navy.

He enjoyed going scuba diving in his younger years and also had his private pilot’s license. Mr. Overmeer was an avid golfer and held membership with the Preston Wood Country Club in Dallas, TX.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Crayne.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laura Hennessey Overmeer; niece, Dorothy Louise “Bunny” Crane, Paducah, KY and his nephew, Donald Crayne Jr., of Louisville, Kentucky.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, February 20th at 11 am at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Manuel Perez officiating.
