Garry Thaxton Young

Garry Thaxton Young, 72, of Ooltewah passed away August 2, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

A lifelong resident of Hamilton County, Garry was owner and operator of Young’s Paving Inc. for the past 49 years.

He was a 1967 graduate of Tyner High School and was a veteran of the US Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thaxton & Wanda Young, and sister, Kimberly Susan Goins.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years,  Patty Grider Young;   son, Christopher (Darcey) Young;  daughter, Misty (Christopher Thompson) McNabb, all of Ooltewah;  brother, Donnie (Gina) Young, Nashville;  7 grandchildren, Brittni (Adam Chapman) Young, Colin Young, Olivia Young, Tyler McNabb, Taylor McNabb, Tinley McNabb and Lydia Thompson; great-grandson, Carson Chapman;  many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 9th at 1:15 pm at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
