October 12, 1930 ~ November 11, 2020 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Tribute

Geneva Roberts Bennett went to Heaven on Nov 11, 2020, at the age of 90.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Ray Bennett, parents, I.N. (Newt) and Grace Roberts, brothers R.T Roberts, Wayne Roberts, and Ronnie Roberts, and sister Glenda Oaks.

Geneva was a life-long resident of Chattanooga. After beginning her secretarial career at Stewarts Potato Chip Company, Geneva was also employed by TVA and ultimately retired from the US Postal Service.

She was an accomplished pianist/organist, and began playing for the Alton Park Church of God at the age of 14. Her favorite career by far was her time singing with her husband, Ed Ray, along his brother, in their gospel group, The Bennett Trio, appearing as regular guests on Mull's Singing Convention. For a number of years, Geneva and Ed Ray also served as Music Directors at North Chattanooga, Daisy, and Woodmore Churches of God, praising God and blessing others with their hearts and voices.

She is survived by her children, Mike Bennett (Ann), Mark Bennett (Jennifer), and Gina Bennett (Paquita), as well as brothers F.D. Roberts (Carol) and Wallace Roberts, and sister, Wilda Curtis.

Geneva's family would like to thank the staff of Hickory Valley Retirement Community, as well as Hospice of Chattanooga, for their kind and loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
