Geraldine (Suggs) McKinney

Geraldine McKinney, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family July 8, 2018. She was 93.

Gerry was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and their Friendship Class.  She also attended Rivermont Presbyterian Church. She dedicated her life to loving and nurturing her family.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Grant and husband, William Nance; parents, Lee and Susie Suggs and a sister, Kay Goldfeder.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ed McKinney; children, Richard C. (Fay) Grant, Jr., Gretchen (Jim) Joyner; stepchildren, Marion (Steve) Keiss, Libby (Steve) Bailey, Mary Lloyd Hatcher and William Nance, Jr.;  grandchildren, Caysie (Jerry)  Evans, Rebecca Mullis, Jeff (Jessica) Joyner and Stacy Joyner (Michael) Tallent; 12 great grandchildren and her sister, Jo Green.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, July 12, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Buddy Nichols officiating.
