Gregory Barry “Hop” Askew, 60, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee due to complications following surgery.
He was born on May 12, 1960 in Griffin, Georgia to the late Alton and Frances Parker Askew. He graduated with a BBA from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and went on to build his own successful industrial packaging supply business, Concept Supply, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a fun-loving and ambitious triathlete and successfully finished four Ironman races.
He is preceded by his brother Alton “Bear” Askew.
He is survived by twin children Chelsea Elizabeth Askew and Robert Bonner “Bo” Askew and their mother, Cynthia Pierce Askew of Rock Spring, Georgia, nephew Chad (Mandy) Askew, niece Kristen Askew (Jason) Montgomery, nephew Josh (Franki) Askew and several grand nieces and nephews.
In lieu of a conventional visitation and service at this time, the family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date, per his wishes.
