Harry Laverne Swanger

Harry Laverne Swanger, 91, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Friday, June 2, 2023. A native of Missouri Valley, Iowa he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a former employee of Masten Corporation where he worked as a Sales Engineer. He was a member of the American Legion and Sons of the Revolution.

Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Elisabeth Patermann Swanger; parents, George Abram and Ida Cooper Swanger; two brothers, Lloyd Swanger and Clifford Swanger and sister, Ione Mason. He is survived by two sons, David (Avis Kennedy) Swanger of Nashville, TN., and Daniel A. Swanger of Chattanooga, TN.; sister, Irene Render of Missouri Valley, Iowa; grandson, Colin Michael Swanger of Youngsville, N.C., several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held  1:30 P.M. Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
