Herman “Dean” Bassham, 83, of Chattanooga passed away Friday, May 20, 2022.
Born in Columbia, TN, on March 20, 1939 to the late Herman Aaron and Robbie Lucile Godwin Bassham, he retired from Olan Mills as an International Director of Training after many years of service. Mr. Bassham sang with the Tennesseans Gospel Quartet and was inducted into the Tri-State Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He served as a choir director for Maranatha Baptist Church.
Survivors include his two sons, Terry Dean Bassham (Jamie), Chattanooga and James Aaron Bassham (Krissy), Rossville; three grandchildren, Courtney Turner (Shane), Cayla White (Tim) and Josh Bassham (Felicia); eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy B. Prentice, Martinsburg, WV: nieces and nephew, Timothy H. Prentice, Robin Wyckoff and Nicole Prentice and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Atkins officiating.
Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, East.
