Howard N. Dixon

Howard N. Dixon, 96, of Chattanooga passed away March 29, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Dixon retired from the Civil Service and was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during WW II as a Tech Sgt.

He graduated from Chattanooga High School in the Class of 1940 and served on the Reunion Planning Committee.

He was a longtime member at Brainerd Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon for over 70 years, teacher of a Men’s Adult Sunday school class, and a member of the Sanctuary Choir.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Dixon.

He is survived by his nieces and nephew, Mary Low, Joyce Ingle, Robert (Sue) Martin, Barbara (Jack) Wilson and Gayle (Bob) Kelley.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brainerd Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Rowland officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Dixon- Pryon Sunday school class.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brainerd Baptist Church Mission Fund.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
