Howard M. (Sr.) Kennedy

Howard Michael Kennedy, Sr., 85, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Howard was born on June 2, 1935, to the late Kenneth and Anna Kennedy. He was a charter member of the Ooltewah Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he served as Elder and Sabbath School Teacher.

Howard served as a beloved teacher and elementary school principal where he mentored, influenced, and positively impacted the lives of thousands of young people for nearly forty years prior to retiring in 1997.

He was a loving husband and father who sacrificed worldly success to make his family a priority.  His words of encouragement, and ever-positive attitude will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, June, sons, Howard M. (Penny) Kennedy, Jr., Darren W. (Andrea) Kennedy; brothers James (Naomi) Kennedy and Ken (Natalie) Kennedy, and sister Sue (Bill) Brown; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, September 19 at the Ooltewah Seventh-Day Adventist Church Fellowship Center. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-4 PM.
