Howard “Hezzy” Lane, 90, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
Howard was a member of East Brainerd Church of Christ, and a proud Navy Vet who was stationed on the USS Macomb (DD 458). He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He loved camping, watching Tennessee Vols basketball, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Wanda Fleming Lane; parents, Harry and Ruth Lane; sister, Ruth Marie Oligny; brothers, Harry Gale, George Thomas, Burford Bryan, and Norman Dow Lane.
He is survived by his daughter, Melinda (Steve) Ivey; son, Joe Lane; sister, Diane Link; brothers, Noel and Robert Lane; grandchildren, Jason and Justin (Ashley) Ivey, Zach (Jessica) Lane; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Kendall, Aubrey Ivey, Nolan “Hezzy” Lane, and Emmerson Rose Lane; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, March 1 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Grady Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens East.
