Iris Westbrook Giacomozzi 95, of Collegedale, Tn. passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

She was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on May 23, 1924.

Iris was a dedicated manager of the Adventist Book Center at Fleming Plaza in Collegedale, Tn. for many years prior to completing her RN degree.

Iris accepted many challenging nursing assignments during her tenure as a registered nurse including, TC Thompson Children’s Hospital, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Moccasin Bend Mental Hospital, Valley Psychiatric Hospital and Chattanooga Dialysis Clinic. She was highly admired by her peers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Iris Cox; brothers, Calvin Jr., Frank Sr, and Martin Leon; husband, John Westbrook, Sr. and husband Edwin Giacomozzi.

Iris is survived by her three beloved children, John Westbrook, Jr., Mitchell (Diane) Westbrook and Gail (Ralph) Fernandez; Cherished grandchildren, John (Christine) Westbrook III, Janette (Charles) Daniel, Brent (Teri) Westbrook, Stacy (Ray) Ivey, Zach (Candice) Fernandez; 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the McDonald Road SDA Church in McDonald, Tennessee with Pastor Dwight Herod and Pastor Fred Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at 2pm in Collegedale Memorial Park Cemetery.
