James Dewitt Ayers

James Ayers, 64, of Chattanooga passed away on September 12, 2021.

James was born on October 2, 1956, in Shirley, Massachusetts, to Dewitt and Barbara Ayers. He graduated from Tyner High School and was a trombonist. He was a head driver for T.H. Payne Co. and most recently in maintenance with Wal-Mart. James attended both Concord Baptist Church and Morris Hill Baptist Church for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Myrla Chris Ayers; his mother, Barbara Ayers; 2 aunts, Siong Norte and Sharon (Wayne) D’Agostino; step-daughter, Mitzi Cottrell; 2 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, September 16, at Tyner Cemetery with Rev. David King officiating.
