James Robert Hoffer

James Robert Hoffer, husband, brother, father, grandfather, missionary, pastor, and friend, passed away in the early hours of November 16, 2022. Cancer took his body quietly and quickly. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Hoffer and his brother, William Hoffer. He is survived by his 2nd wife, Ruth Wright Hoffer,  2 siblings, Alice Hoffer Sinyard (Mike), Dennis Hoffer (Lorie),  his 4 children Barbara Battle (Michael), Tamara Hoffer, Michele Pokuta (Joseph), and Richard Hoffer (Kelly), 2 step-children, Ken Wright and Sharon Wright Stromberg (Chris), and 8 grandchildren, Sofia, Natalie and Dimitri Battle, Joseph and Jennifer Pokuta, and Samantha, Madeline, and Ruthann Hoffer, several nieces and nephews and a large number of wonderful friends, both in the United States and abroad.

He was a fisher of men, a preacher for Jesus, a linguist, musician, amateur radio enthusiast, author, editor and golfer. He made God first in his life and went wherever God led him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 3:00 P.M., Berkeley Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3606 Valley Road, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions may be made to Pruitthealth Hospice
