Joanne "Peggy" (Carpenter) Gustafson

Joanne “Peggy” Carpenter Gustafson, 88, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018.

Joanne was born in Minneapolis, MN on December 17, 1929 to the late Roy and Margaret Carpenter. She met the love of her life the late Willard Dean Gustafson and they were married on October 11, 1952. She served at Duncan Park Baptist Church in East Ridge, TN and First Baptist Church in Evensville, TN as a Pastor’s wife.

Her mission in life was to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which she did until the end of her life.

She is survived by her children, Sandra (Mike) Hartline, Steven (Melissa) Gustafson; grandchildren, Alana (Jim) Caughron, Tyler (Rachel) Christian, Seth Gustafson, Cambrie (Alex) Gagliardi;  and great-grandchildren, Emma G. Caughron, Emma D., Lila, and Molly Christian.

Phillipipians 3:21 was accomplished in the life of Peggy Gustafson “He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control”.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, December 12 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Gary Moore officiating.
