John Freeman (Jr) Neikirk

John Freeman Neikirk Jr., 86, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023. A native of Tiffin, Ohio, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and a former employee of McKee Baking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Freeman Neikirk and Edith Cecilia Hussey Neikirk; son, Christopher John Neikirk; and three brothers, Richard Allen Neikirk, Walter Neikirk and Charles “Mickey” Johnston.

He is survived by his loving wife, Iona Louise Pugh Neikirk; son, Eric James (Candi) Neikirk; two daughters, Lorrie (Verlon Liles) Neikirk Anderson, and Mandy (Robert) Neikirk Shearer; sister, Judy (Tom) Sobeck; seven grandchildren, Zane, Chase, Peyton, Logan, Maddox, Amelia, and Clara; one great grandson, Nolan; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. at Story Point 1148 Mountain Creek Rd Chattanooga, TN., 37405 Sunday September 24, 2023. Private services will be held at a later date.
