John “Jack” Michael Wallace Sr., 78, of Chattanooga, passed away on May 19, 2019.
He was born on August 16, 1940 in Queens, NY and later was instrumental in starting the Amicus Sports & Social Club of Queens.
Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served in France (1959-1961).
In his business career, Jack was an importer & supplier of raw fibers from Bangladesh and India and travelled extensively.
Jack loved his family deeply and was very proud of them.
He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church for 46 years, a member of Elks Lodge 91, and an avid golfer with membership in the Dalton Golf & Country Club for over 40 years.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gerry; Daughter, Tricia Heider (Konrad); Son, John Wallace Jr. (Terry); Granddaughter, Regan Melton; brothers, Edward Wallace, Paul Wallace, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Dr. Larry Schlabach, Lori Hill, and the entire team at Erlanger University Oncology and Hematology group, both East and Downtown locations.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, May23, 2019 at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Manuel Perez officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
