Lucile (Lucy) Rader passed away peacefully on May 27, 2021, at the age of 95. She was born to John M. and Margaret Clift on July 4th, 1926. She married Carroll Rader and as a couple they had lasting influence in the lives of many neighborhood children. Lucy and Carroll taught children near their lake home how to water ski and enjoy boating and fishing. Now adults, these individuals consider them as second parents today. Lucy and Carroll were active members of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Lucy was an avid card player. She loved to relax at their lake home with family and friends. Water skiing and watching the Atlanta Braves were favored hobbies. Lucy and Carrol enjoyed the companionship of several dogs as pets during their life together.
Lucy retired from the Clerk and Master Office of Hamilton County after many years of dedicated employment.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lucy was proceeded in death by her Brother, John R. Clift, Sisters, Dot Clift and Berta Thacker.
She is survived by Sister, Peggy McDaniel, and nephews, Randy McDaniel and Rick McDaniel, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Morning Pointe Shallowford and sitters, Angela Montgomery, Carla Johnson, and Pam Ramsey for their excellent care in the last few days.
Funeral arrangements are made by Heritage Funeral Home East Brainerd Chapel with a graveside service on Tuesday, June 1, at 11:00 a.m. in the Tennessee/Georgia Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
